Garrett brings a technical and execution-oriented background to BLKBRD, with experience guiding large-scale community development from planning through delivery. A licensed professional engineer in Texas, Garrett’s work has focused on infrastructure strategy, project management, consultant coordination, construction oversight, and the practical problem-solving required to move complex development projects forward.
Before founding BLKBRD, Garrett helped lead the continued development of Veramendi, a 2,400-acre master-planned community in New Braunfels, Texas. His experience includes coordinating civil design, utility planning, public infrastructure, development phasing, and the many public and private stakeholders involved in creating complete communities.
At BLKBRD, Garrett helps shape the firm’s vision, culture, and development approach, bringing a rare ability to solve complex problems, build trust with key partners, and move difficult projects forward. His leadership combines technical depth with practical judgment, relationship-building, and a commitment to creating a high-accountability culture. Max Harford brings a multidisciplinary background in community development, real estate strategy, finance, public-private coordination, and land planning. His work has focused on the intersection of vision and execution — helping translate large, complex land assets into financially disciplined development strategies and communities with lasting character.

His role centers on aligning people, priorities, and resources so major functions can execute with clarity and accountability. Max is responsible for profit and loss discipline, organizational planning, partner relationships, and strategic projects, with a focus on removing obstacles, maintaining momentum, and ensuring BLKBRD operates with both commercial rigor and long-term purpose.
